AUT 101-A11 Intro to Automotive Tech

This course covers the basic concepts and terms of automotive technology, workplace safety, safety and environmental regulations, and use of service information. Topics include familiarization with components along with identification and proper use of various automotive hand and power tools.
AUT 104 - A11 Automotive Electricity/Electronics I: 4 Semester Hours

Pre/Co-requisite: RDG 090 or minimum placement test score for placement in college level reading; AUT 101 or consent of instructor.
Lecture/Laboratory: 3 hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory per week
This course introduces students to the fundamentals and technology necessary for diagnosis and repair of automotive electrical and electronic systems. The course includes reading and understanding wiring diagrams, electrical symbols, and functions of electrical and electronic systems.
AUT 106 - A11 Engine Performance I: 4 Semester Hours

Pre/Co-requisite: RDG 090 or minimum placement test score for placement in college level reading; AUT 101, AUT 104 or consent of instructor.
Lecture/Laboratory: 3 hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory per week.
This course introduces students to the fundamentals and technology necessary for diagnosis and repair of systems that control engine performance. The course includes diagnosis of mechanical and electronic malfunctions and exhaust problems which impact engine performance.
AUT 108 - A11 Automotive Heating and Air Conditioning: 4 Semester Hours

Pre/Co-requisite: RDG 090 or minimum placement test score for placement in college level reading; AUT 101 or consent of instructor.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals and technology necessary for diagnosis and repair of automotive heating and air conditioning systems. Course includes diagnosis of mechanical and electronic malfunctions that impact on climate control.

This course covers service/repair/rebuilding of block, head, and internal engine components. Topics include engine repair/reconditioning using service specifications.
AUT 199-A13 Braking Systems

Presents the operation, design, construction, repair and servicing of braking systems. Explains use of tools and test equipment, evaluation of test results, estimation and repair costs, and power, standard and disc brakes.
AUT 299-A11 Suspension & Steering
