Registration Procedures
Eastern asks all New Students to attend a New Student Orientation session before meeting with their advisor to register for classes. During this time, Support Services will distribute an Orientation Guide and Student Handbook which includes information about Eastern and tips on how to be a successful student. Following the New Student Orientation Session, students will meet with their program advisors to register for classes. If you would like to register for one of these sessions or need additional information, please call us toll-free at 1-877-982-2322 or 304-434-8000.
Grades
Starting August 1, 2005, final grades will no longer be mailed to students. Instead Eastern Students will be able to view final grades online by following these steps:
1. Go to https://spock,southern.wvnet.edu:8080 .
2. Click on Enter Secure Area
3. Type in your User ID (usually begins with "S000")
4. Type in your PIN (your birthday in six digits -- for example, October 10,
1970 would be 101070)
5. Click on Student and Financial Aid Info
6. Click on Final Grades

To obtain an unofficial copy of your student transcript, follow these steps. Speedy Service! No lines, No waiting! No traveling! Order at your Convenience!

To obtain an official copy of your student transcript, see your advisor to obtain a transcript request form.
NOTE: At this time, the "Request Printed/Official Transcript" does not work. In order to request an official transcript, please complete a Transcript Request Form located at the reception area at the HARCO Complex in Moorefield. Transcripts are printed and mailed from Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College's Central Records Office. www.southern.wvnet.edu.

Placement--SIGI 3: NEW
Designed to assist you in analyzing your interests and values and identifying occupations which match the criteria you choose, SIGI 3 is an advanced career guidance system that aids you with the career decision-making process.
SIGI 3 is divided into sections and each section relates to a state in making a career decision. You can go through the entire program, or just the steps needed.
First-time users of SIGI 3 should contact Dave Jones, Eastern's Counselor, for important information to access the SIGI 3 program. Then click HERE to begin!
Library Services
Provided through Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. Students can utilize a variety of resources electronically.

24/7 access to over 20 million full-text articles on a broad range of fields and subjects from nearly 6,000 scholarly and popular periodicals at: InfoTrac College Edition, an Online Research and Learning Center.

Tutoring:
If a student has difficulty with class assignments, or is struggling with routine coursework, or just isn't happy with his or her academic performance and wishes to improve--maybe it's time for a tutor. Simply visit, email or call Dave Jones in Eastern's counseling office to request assistance with coursework.

Study Skills Workshops
Students who want to increase skills in a particular area should watch for posters of upcoming workshops on popular topics including -- study skills, time management, exam preparation, etc. For those that may not have time for a live workshop, or can't fit one into a present schedule, there are opportunities to try on-line workshops too.
Advising:
Academic advisors are available to provide counseling and guidance to assist you with your academic goals and choices.They can answer questions about degrees, majors, certificate programs and skills sets. They can discuss schedule planning, previous credit applicability to graduation requirements, and much more.
These individuals also provide support and answer questions you may have. We recommend that you work closely with your advisor as you work toward your education goals. Advising can help you achieve your educational and career goals by providing information, guidance and assistance throughout your time at Eastern.
