Orientation

New Student (including Transfer Students) Orientations:

New students are required to attend a New Student Orientation Session. During this time, students will receive an Orientation Guide and Student Handbook which includes information about Eastern and tips on how to be a successful student. Following the New Student Orientation Session, students will meet with their program advisors to discuss registration for classes.

Placement assessments may be completed prior to the orientation/registration session.

If you are unsure you need to complete the placement assessment call Monica Snyder or Dave Jones. The college will also hold regularly-scheduled Placement Workshops together with Financial Aid Workshops (schedule pending).

DIRECTIONS to Eastern's new Moorefield Center at 316 Eastern Drive.

To reach Eastern's new Moorefield Center location at 316 Eastern Drive, Moorefield, WV:
Take Route 220 to Moorefield → head EAST on Corridor H (new state route 55) →
take the first exit off Corridor H EAST of Route 220 (follow the signs to "EASTERN DRIVE").
Follow the hard gravel exit road uphill to the end, turn right, and continue straight to the new building).

Coming from Baker or Wardensville towards Moorefield, heading WEST on Corridor H, follow the signs to "EASTERN DRIVE" (first left-hand exit past old State Route 55)).

Online And VDL (Video Distance Learning) Course Orientation

Students enrolling in any online courses in the Fall 2009 semester must attend an orientation session.
Students who have successfully completed an online or VDL course do not need to attend an online course orientation session; however students are strongly encouraged to repeat this session.
Prior to each of the online/VDL orientation sessions, Learner Support staff will be available to assist students with course registration. Students intending to attend should schedule an appointment with an advisor to assure staff availability for registration. Call Laurel Godlove to schedule an appointment.
