Eastern WV Community and Technical College received formal accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) in October 2008, as an independent, freestanding community and technical college.
The HLC accredits degree-granting colleges and universities-and so grants membership in the Commission and in the North Central Association-to institutions of higher education in the North Central region that includes: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
