The Individualized Career Studies degree is intended to meet the educational and professional needs of students and employers who have specific career objectives that cannot be met by existing degree programs.  The student in conjunction with an advisor develops an individualized curriculum that matches his/her professional goals.  For some students, this may reflect their current occupational goals while for others it may serve as an opportunity to build on previously acquired training.

The 21 semester hour requirement in general education provides students with a broad background in humanities, social sciences, science, mathematics, and computers.  Proposed programs will be reviewed by a committee of faculty and technical professionals to ensure educational and professional program integrity.

The Individualized Career Studies, AAS includes 30 semester hours of courses within the technical areas selected.  The credits in this component can be a unique combination of courses from the current catalog.  Tech Prep seamless curriculum, vocational training programs (articulated partnerships and individual evaluations), military credit, professional certification, transfer credits, or credit awarded for experiential learning.

The free elective category can be satisfied by almost any college credits, however they should be selected for the purpose of enhancing the attainment of educational and career goals..
